Zeta Zeta Chapter House – Fall 2011 Housing Information

A quick history: Dec 1 2003, the boys of Psi U moved into their new house on UBC campus. The address is: Psi Upsilon Fraternity, #7- 2880 Wesbrook Mall Vancouver BC V6T 2J3. During the academic year the house has 32 active and potential members calling it home. There are open rooms available for rent starting in September for both one and two term leases, so please don’t hesitate to contact us and get a tour in person. The rooms have varying layouts; some are larger than others, some have a shared bathroom while others have semi-private facilities. There are three different styles of room; Single with a double bed, double with two single beds or the lounge. The rooms are easily some of the best on campus, with them being brand new and enjoying a unique and close group atmosphere. Room pricing is described in the chart below. Payments are collected as either a discounted lump sum at the beginning of each term or as monthly installments. Rent is cheaper for members of the fraternity than for those people that wish to live with us as boarders.

All single person rooms offer a large double bed and each of the double rooms host two single beds which may be stacked as bunks. All bedrooms on the second and third floors have a personal sink and wash area, with every two bedrooms sharing a private washroom containing a toilet and shower. The rooms on the first floor share a communal bathroom, with two sinks, two showers, two toilets and two urinals. All rooms come standard with an area for hanging clothes, a dresser, night stand and a desk with shelves. The lounge is slightly different because it is the biggest room in the house, shared and has it’s own en-suite bathroom with two sinks, a shower and a toilet.

The Meal Plan is mandatory and costs $200/month. The price is the same for members and boarders.

This includes: 3 meals per day during the week, a cooked lunch and dinner and some breakfast snacks to go, all you can eat. Meals are looked after by our professional chef, with the food held in high regard. Utilities such as water, gas, electricity etc. are already included. High speed internet access is also provided (two high speed commercial lines feed our brand new wireless network) and HD cable TV is available free of charge in our lounges. Parking stalls are also available in a well lit, safe, secured, and heated underground parkade which has direct access to the house. The laundry facilities are in the basement with one washer and two driers at $1.50 a spin for each.

The PSI U house is one of respect and achievement. Hazing does not occur in our house. Your grades will not drop, but you will get involved in social events as well as the chance to meet new friends through UBC’s ever-growing Greek system.
